The head of the Jordanian and Amman chambers of industry, engineer Fathi al-Jaghbir, expressed his hope that economic relations between Jordan and Kazakhstan will develop further in the coming period, especially since the trade exchange between the two countries is very modest, as the figures indicate that Jordanian exports to Kazakhstan do not exceed 200 thousand dinars in exchange for imports of up to 400 thousand dinars.
During his meeting at the chamber’s building, K, the kingdom’s Ambassador-designate to Kazakhstan, Hamza al-Omari, added that the Chamber seeks to promote Jordanian exports by searching for new markets for Jordanian products, including Kazakhstan, where the chamber supported the participation of a Jordanian industrial delegation in the 28th edition of kihe 2023, an exhibition specializing in medical supplies held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and enjoys wide international participation, in order to identify the markets of Central Asia, and the export opportunities available for Jordanian products to enter these markets the most promising.
He called for activating the economic role of Jordanian embassies abroad, by introducing and promoting Jordanian industries, as well as providing industry chambers with information about export opportunities to the countries where these embassies are located, as well as the economic events held there, in addition to their role in bringing investments to Jordan, by introducing the investment advantages offered by the kingdom to investors.
For his part, Ambassador al-Omari stressed that he will work to introduce high-value-added investment opportunities in the kingdom, especially in the sectors of ICT, logistics, tourism, industry, agriculture, health, energy, renewable energy, religious tourism, mining and food industries.
He explained that the most important obstacles to increasing trade exchange between the two countries are the cost of Transportation, the lack of direct transport links between the two countries, and the difficulty of obtaining visas to travel to Kazakhstan for Jordanian businessmen.
