Olarov Ashkat, Kazakh Minister of Culture and Sports, stressed his country’s desire to strengthen its cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, especially in the important sectors of the two countries, including the cultural sphere, and to seek to promote joint investments.
In statements to UAE news agency WAM, he noted that UAE investments in Kazakhstan are a model for what countries can accomplish in the future at the level of future projects.
He said: “The UAE will always be an important partner for us, and we will be ready to provide support and various facilitation aspects to UAE investors to ensure the development of existing areas of cooperation.”
In that connection, he noted the opening of the “Abu Dhabi Plaza” project in Astana, stressing that it had been an important addition to the Kazakh capital and had become one of its most famous features.
Abu Dhabi Plaza is a huge complex with a commercial and residential tower in the heart of the capital Astana with residential and commercial facilities, including a 4-star hotel and 400 parking spaces for mall guests, hotel guests and office tower staff.
He said: “We look forward to taking advantage of the UAE’s experience in tourism and development, and we are working to add more vital facilities and resorts to the list of attractions in Kazakhstan that currently include many of them such as the highest tent-shaped building in the world, one of the most prominent mosques in the region, and many national parks.”
Kazakhstan has begun to recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially on the number of flights to and from its cities, stressing that it aims to double tourism numbers over the next two years to reach 4 million international tourists and 11 million domestic tourists.
The Kazakh capital has become a suitable destination for investment, especially in the tourism, hospitality and leisure sector, noting that government projects packages at the level of roads, infrastructure and service facilities have made the city ready to attract more investment.
