KazTransOil JSC boosted Kazakh oil shipments from the port of Aktau by 53% in the first nine months of 2023.
From January to September 2023, the volume of Kazakh oil exported from the port of Aktau was 2 million 484.8 thousand tons, an increase of 864 thousand tons or 53% over the same time previous year.
In particular, the volume of oil transported from the port of Aktau to the port of Baku grew by 870 thousand tons to 990.2 thousand tons. 1 million 494.6 thousand tons of Kazakh oil were delivered from the port of Aktau to the port of Makhachkala, which is 5.9 thousand tons fewer than the indication for the first nine months of 2022.
In 2022, Kazakhstan’s President, Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, directed that the volume of oil transported over the Trans-Caspian corridor be increased.
In accordance with this directive, NC KazMunayGas JSC and the Republic of Azerbaijan’s SOCAR national oil firm signed an deal for the transportation of 1.5 million tons of oil per year from the Tengiz field to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.
KazTransOil JSC is the Kazakhstan’s national operator of the major oil pipeline.
