The number of international visitors visiting Kazakhstan increased by 37% in the first nine months of 2023.
According to the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports, 834.9 thousand international visitors visited the country from January to September this year.
This is a 225-person increase over the same period last year, when 609.8 thousand international visitors visited Kazakhstan.
In addition to an increase in foreign tourists, local tourism has also increased significantly.
Domestic visitors using lodging services grew to 553 thousand persons in the first nine months of 2023, representing a considerable rise over the same period in 2022, which stood at 5.4 million people.
Notably, this amount exceeds the 1.3 million people reported before the epidemic in the first nine months of 2019.
