Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Sätqaliev said that in case of a shortage of natural gas, the republic plans to cover it with supplies from Russia.
The Kazakh Energy Minister stressed that the country is experiencing a steady increase in gas consumption.
“In general, the set of measures leads to the fact that at some point we will have to reduce the volume of our exports to China and accept gas from Russia until the gas processing capabilities are put into operation,” Sätqaliev said.
“Three large projects are already being implemented to cover the internal deficit. Until we reach these capabilities, we have the opportunity to accept additional volumes of gas from Russia,” the Kazakh Energy Minister added.
“The gas transportation system of Kazakhstan consists of several branches of gas pipelines, which allow receiving and transiting gas from Russia,” Sätqaliev said.
