Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed legislation ratifying an agreement with Turkey on the organization of information sharing and the streamlining of customs control processes.
The agreement’s ratification is intended to streamline and optimize customs procedures, create advantageous conditions for foreign economic activity participants, and enhance conditions for carriers of products.
The agreement specifies: “Priority border crossing at checkpoints; simplification of customs procedures to decrease customs control time; exemption from customs inspection at crossings, save in circumstances of signs of customs and smuggling crimes.”
Through the electronic sharing of information on products and vehicles transiting between Kazakhstan and Turkey, the agreement aims to increase efficiency and reduce the time necessary for customs checks.
