According to official statistics, Kazakhstan’s daily crude oil production last April rose by 4% from March, with production reaching 1.6 million barrels per day.
Kazakhstan expects its crude oil and gas production to increase to 90.5 million tons in 2023, up from 84.2 million tons in 2022, thanks to increased production in large fields in the Caspian Sea region.
Although production increased last April, it is still slightly below Kazakhstan’s share of 1.628 million barrels per day (bpd) in April, agreed within OPEC +, which agreed to a further cut in production from May.
Kazakhstan is set to reduce its oil production by 78 thousand barrels per day to 1.550 million barrels per day, starting this month.
