The Government of Kazakhstan urged those working in bitcoin mining mines to use the country’s natural resources to generate the electricity needed for bitcoin mining in order to conserve the energy consumed in this huge process.
Kazakhstan has become a major State in the field of bitcoin mining.
In 2021, bitcoin mining capacity rose from 500 MW in January to 1,500 MW in October of the same year.
Kazakhstan’s share of the global retail ratio jumped from 6% to 18%.
Owing to the need for significant energy, Kazakhstan directed this process to rely on generators for the operation of private mining platforms, making pressure on the country’s energy sources extremely severe.
As a result, Kazakhstan’s share fell from 18% in October 2021 to just 4% in May 2023.
