Wheat exports from Kazakhstan witnessed a record high during the 2022/2023 season, as exports reached a new historical level, compared to last season’s exports.
According to official statistics, during the 11 months of the current season, Kazakhstan shipped 7.31 million tons of wheat to foreign markets, as export growth was driven by demand from Uzbekistan, which remains the main importer of wheat this season.
For comparison, during the same period of the 2021/2022 season, the country exported about 5.52 million tons of wheat, and in the 2020/2021 season, the country shipped about 5.6 million tons.
In the first 11 months of the current season, 3.61 million tons of wheat were exported to Uzbekistan from Kazakhstan, a record that exceeded the past few seasons, and China’s purchases of Kazakh wheat increased to 344 thousand tons.
