Kyrgyzstan is set to uphold the decision of the Republic’s National Bank to keep the discount rate at 13%.
“The National Bank’s monetary policy actions played a pivotal role in directing inflation downward,” Ilyichbek Sultankulov, Deputy Head of the Communications and International Cooperation Department at the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, said.
“The annual inflation rate is gradually declining, reaching 8% in November. This reflects a significant decrease of 6.7% points compared to the beginning of 2023,” he added.
At the same time, the price of non-food goods and services remained stable, underscoring the impact of tariff policy measures and perceived increased domestic demand.
Kyrgyzstan’s economy shows positive growth dynamics, with real GDP growth of 4.5% from January to October 2023.
