Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” signed a memorandum of understanding with the company “setaglobal Berhad” to cooperate in the development of renewable energy projects in Malaysia, with a capacity of 2 gigawatts, including solar and wind energy, energy storage battery systems and other renewable energy technologies, according to a statement issued on Monday.

Malaysia is working on plans for transformation within the energy sector in order to achieve its goal of climate neutrality by 2050.
The Southeast Asian region is a major investment destination for “Masdar”. “Masdar” has developed the Shirata floating solar PV power plant in Indonesia, which is the largest of its kind in the region with a production capacity of 145 megawatts, which will supply 50 thousand homes with electricity.
