OpenAI is preparing to launch the GPT Store to the public next week, following a delay from the previously announced dates.
The GPT Store enables customers to sell or share customized artificial intelligence robots with users of ChatGPT robots.
These robots are created based on the large language models developed by OpenAI.
According to an email sent by the company to registered developers on the store, they will need to verify again that their GPT robots are compatible with the guidelines and policies followed by the company, and make some minor changes to their settings before the launch of the store next week.
The spokesperson stated that the company will reveal more details next week, without mentioning the launch dates of the store in different countries, and whether the company intends to make it available to all users at once or gradually as they did last year with ChatGPT robot.
OpenAI had announced its GPT Store for the first time at its developer conference last November. The store was initially supposed to launch in the same month, but the company postponed the launch due to the CEO Sam Altman’s dismissal – which caused disruptions within the company – and then his subsequent reappointment.
The store will only be available to subscribers of the paid version, “ChatGPT Plus,” as well as institutions. While OpenAI itself provides its custom robots through the “Explore” tab in “ChatGPT Plus,” the store will allow for the sale or sharing of custom robots introduced by customers and earn income from them based on their usage rates without disclosing the mechanism of this process.
