Porsche Launches the Electric Macan with a Starting Price of $80,450

Porsche has unveiled its second electric car, the Macan, with a price of $80,450.

This is the first time the sports car manufacturing company has converted one of its previously existing cars into an electric car.

The new Makan car contains a battery with a power of 100 kilowatts, of which 95 kilowatts are usable, along with an architecture with a power of 800 volts for fast charging capabilities.

Porsche states that the Makan car can accept up to 270 kilowatts of fast charging and the battery can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 21 minutes.

The electric car, Macan, is Porsche’s second battery-operated vehicle, in addition to the Taycan, which was first introduced in 2019.

Porsche is developing an electric car called the Macan, using its platform known as PPE, which was developed in collaboration with Audi. Porsche stated that it will release the estimated range when the car approaches the delivery stage.

The high voltage key in the battery allows for a bank charging in charging stations with a power of 400 volts by dividing the battery with a power of 800 volts into two batteries, each with a nominal voltage of 400 volts.

Porsche produces two versions of the car equipped with twin engines for all-wheel drive, which are the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo.

The Makan is born with 4 powers of 300 kilowatts, or 402 horsepower, and 479 pounds of torque, capable of accelerating to a speed of 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, and achieving a maximum speed of 219 km/h.

While the Macan Turbo produces a power of 470 kilowatts, or 630 horsepower, and 833 pounds of torque, it reaches a speed of 100 kilometers per hour in 3.1 seconds and achieves a maximum speed of 260 kilometers per hour.

Both models come equipped with the standard Porsche air suspension system and electronic damping control system.

Porsche states that the management system is characterized by dampers with valve technology, which leads to a wide range between comfort and performance, along with distinctive features among different driving programs.

Porsche explained that the Macan car is now equipped with an optional rear axle steering system, which allows for a maximum steering angle of 5 degrees.

This allows for a 36.4 feet turning radius in urban traffic and during maneuvers, with the assistance of front axle steering.

Porsche adds a completely new version of the front display screen, which the company compares to augmented reality.

The virtual navigation arrows appear at a distance of 32.8 feet and are compatible with an 87-inch display size. The touchscreen size of the central display is 12.6 inches, while the gauge display measures approximately 10.9 inches.

The car manufacturing company states that the starting price for the Macan 4 is $80,450, while the starting price for the Macan Turbo is $106,950.
