yea The President of Uzbekistan, Shaukat Mirzayev, said that the Central Asian States have historical, commercial and common traditions, and most importantly religion.
During his speech at the 18th consultative meeting of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Gulf Summit with the Central Asian countries in Jeddah on Wednesday, he added that the Central Asian countries are seeking to develop these historic relations.
He noted the willingness to implement a mechanism to promote cooperation in food security, the economy, artificial intelligence and the clean energy sector with Gulf states, proposing the establishment of a joint investment council between Gulf states and Central Asia.
The President of Uzbekistan stressed the Central Asian countries’ pursuit of a long-term partnership with the Gulf States in various fields, noting the importance of applying free trade with the Gulf States.
On Wednesday, Saudi Arabia will host the Gulf Summit with Central Asian States (C5) in conjunction with the 18th Consultative Meeting. This reflects the interest of the GCC countries led by Saudi Arabia in strengthening relations between the GCC States and the Central Asian States (C5) and increasing their coordination.
The States of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Central Asian States (C5) (the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan) bring together joint ties as Islamic States, which are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, have shared values and historical ties, and possess significant oil and gas resources; qualifies it to play an influential role in global energy security.
The importance of the Summit lay; Being the first of its kind and reflecting the openness of the GCC States, in particular the Kingdom, to partnerships with the international community’s active blocs; With a view to enhancing the status of the Gulf Cooperation Council globally.
