The Russian Ministry of Energy announced an agreement with Kazakhstan to extend their agreement on oil transport through Kazakhstan until 2033.
The ministry said the volume of oil transported across the country will reach 10 million tons per year.
In mid-May, Kazakh National Oil Transport Company “Caz Trans Oil” announced the extension of the contract signed with Russia’s Ross Oil Company for the transportation of 10 million tons of Russian oil annually through Kazakh territory to China until 2034.
The company stated that it had signed an additional agreement on its contract with Ross Petroleum until January 1, 2034 to transfer 10 million tons of Russian oil annually to People’s China while maintaining the tariff currently in force.
The statement indicated that the Convention signed was in force from the date of entry into force of the amendments and additions to the Convention between the Governments of Russia and Kazakhstan on cooperation in the transport of Russian oil through Kazakhstan’s territory to China.
