Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulzhenov said Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were continuing discussions on projects under the “Triple Gas Federation”, which proposes to supply Russian gas through the territory of those countries.
“It’s at the discussion stage,” Shulzhenov told reporters when asked about the federation, according to Russian agency TASS.
Last November, Russia offered Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan the establishment of a “triple gas union” to coordinate the trade interests of the three countries in this area.
Last January, the Ministries of Energy of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan signed a cooperation plan with Gazprom.
