The first algorithm for the Russian market, developed by mathematicians, allows predicting fluctuations in stock prices by analyzing news related to financial markets.
According to the press service of the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, this algorithm will allow investors to manage their capital more efficiently and build investment strategies for the Russian stock market.
Sergey Koltsunov, a researcher at the Higher Institute of Economics, stated that his team wasn’t the first to come up with the idea of analyzing news to predict prices. However, they were the first ones to apply this model to the Russian market. The team used modeling for the first time to predict stock behavior on the stock exchange while considering a variety of topics.
Coltsof and his colleagues, who specialize in health, safety, environment, and banking at TP were able to develop the first Russian algorithm that utilizes the largest local media to make similar predictions for the Russian stock market.
