Saudi Arabia’s economy contracted by 4.5% in the third quarter of 2023, compared to the same quarter of 2022, according to the General Authority for Statistics.
“According to the rapid estimates made by the Statistics Authority, the real GDP of the Kingdom fell by 4.5% during the third quarter of 2023, compared to the same quarter of 2022,” the Saudi General Authority for Statistics said.
The Saudi General Authority for Statistics attributed this fall to the decline in oil activities by 17.3%, despite the increase in non-oil activities by 3.6% in addition to the growth of government activities by 1.9%.
Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan predicted that the Saudi non-oil economy will grow by about 6% this year.
