Shanghai, a Chinese city, launched the first cargo train between China and Europe in 2024, with the total value of the loaded goods exceeding 10 million yuan ($1.4 million).
The cargo train carried 100 standard containers, including air conditioners and household appliances, with a total weight of over 1000 tons. Shanghai had previously launched the first cargo train between China and Europe in September 2021, and by 2023, it had handled 100 cargo train trips, loaded with over 10,000 standard containers of goods.
