His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has allocated 100 million dirhams to support Arab research, according to Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Arab Innovators Initiative.
Under the patronage and presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the “Arab Prodigies” initiative honors the winners of its first edition in six different categories in a ceremonial event in Dubai today, Monday.
The ceremony will take place at the Museum of the Future in Dubai, with the presence of a selection of thinkers, scientists, ministers, diplomats, officials, and media representatives from various parts of the Arab world.
Continuous celebration
The honoring of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to the winners of the “Arab Prodigies” initiative confirms his confidence in their role as prominent Arab figures in their respective fields, showing their creativity and inspiring millions of minds and youth within the Arab world and beyond, according to Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Qarqawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the “Arab Prodigies” initiative.
Al-Qarqawi said, “The Arab prodigies continuously celebrate the exceptional Arab minds that have innovated, excelled, and contributed to enriching the global scientific, intellectual, cultural, and literary community. They have provided outstanding accomplishments in fields such as design, architecture, engineering, medicine, and technology, thus resuming our region’s and its people’s contribution to the march of human civilization.” He also praised the commitment of the “Arab Prodigious” initiative, which has become the Arab equivalent of the “Nobel” prizes, to continue celebrating Arab achievements and providing more opportunities for Arab individuals who excel to expand the impact of their creations, innovations, research, and accomplishments, covering more vital sectors, and supporting the building of a more prosperous future for Arab societies and humanity as a whole.
Six winners
The ceremony honors Dr. Hani Najm, the winner of the medical category, and Professor Fadel Adib, the winner of the engineering and technology category. It also recognizes Dr. Mohammed El-Erian, who received the “Arab Geniuses” award in the economics category. The award for the natural sciences category goes to Professor Nevine Khashab, while Architect Lena Al-Ghatma is the winner in the architecture and design category. Finally, Professor Wassini Al-Araj is the recipient of the “Arab Geniuses” award in the literature and arts category.
