Official statistics came from Kazakhstan on Friday, with the country’s sunflower seed stock rising to more than 28% over last year.
In this regard, as of 1 July 2023, Kazakhstan’s oilseeds stock totalled 537 thousand tons compared to 420 thousand tons in the same period the previous year.
Meanwhile, according to the National Oilseeds Therapeutics Association, the real figures about the availability of sunflower seeds in the country differ from the official figures by more than 30%.
By the end of the current season, October 2023, Kazakhstan’s final stocks of sunflower seeds will be minimal, and processors will have to import oilseeds from the Russian Federation.
