The Tajik President, Emomali Rahmon, met with Saudi Arabia’s Development Fund CEO, Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, as the parties discussed expanding economic, trade, financial, and investment relations between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia.
The Tajik President stressed that cooperation between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia was expanding steadily and gaining new prospects by the day.
“Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the beneficial relations with the Saudi Development Fund, and the Saudi Development Fund expressed confidence that Tajikistan’s cooperation with the Fund will continue to expand significantly,” the presidential press office said.
During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral relations towards the implementation of important projects in the areas of education, transport, health, hydropower, and water management.
According to the president’s press office, it was emphasized that increasing the production of “green energy” was an appropriate basis for strengthening Tajikistan’s “green economy,” and there were many opportunities to develop cooperation in that direction.
The Tajik side stressed the need to increase the amount of funds needed to implement important infrastructure projects in Tajikistan, including in the areas of education, health care, and transport.
