Tajikistan achieved a record 21.4 billion kWh electricity production in 2022, the highest level since its independence. The country’s hydropower resources are estimated at 527 billion kWh per year.
Tajikistan has established and developed 287 large and small hydropower plants, 50 substations and rebuilt 75 per cent of Tajikistan’s energy infrastructure over the past years.
