Electric car giant Tesla has revealed a 3-4% price cut for its Model 3 and Y electric cars in Japan this month.
According to the company’s website, prices for all affordable versions of its Model 3 have been reduced by almost 3%, while prices for all y-model variants have decreased by about 4%.
Tesla said that the reduction in the price of the Model 3 made it more affordable for everyone in Japan than ever before when using various forms of subsidies in the purchase. The Model 3 is now priced at JPY 5,245,600 (USD 36,362), while the Y is priced at JPY 5,637,000.
Tesla kept the prices of the S and X models unchanged. Tesla began accepting orders for these higher-priced electric vehicles in Japan in May.
TSLA shares fell by 0.59% in pre-market trading on Wednesday.
