“Tesla” reduced the prices of its cars in China for the second time this week, in an additional step by the American automaker to compete for the green car market.
The company announced a reduction in the price of the “S” and “X” models by up to 70 thousand yuan, that is, about 9,600 dollars, to 754,900 yuan, and 836 thousand yuan, respectively, according to Bloomberg.
The move comes just two days after Tesla reduced the prices of long-range, performance and “Y” – type versions by 14,000 yuan, as well as extending insurance support for the basic version of the Model 3 sedan, keeping the feature in place until the end of next month.
The company’s financial statements showed that its car sales in China fell by about 31% last month, year-on-year, reaching the lowest levels in a year.
