Tesla announced the resumption of production at its factory in Gruenheide, on the outskirts of the German capital Berlin, starting from today, Monday.
This comes after a production halt of approximately two weeks due to a shortage of components caused by the Houthi attacks, on ships in the Red Sea.
The American electric car manufacturing company was forced to halt vehicle production on January 29th due to attacks carried out by Yemen’s Houthi militia on ships.
These attacks have forced cargo ships to change their travel routes and use maritime passages around the southern tip of Africa, resulting in delays in the arrival of shipments.
Tesla stated that this led to a shortage of components that are necessary for completing car production.
The company started production in the factory about two years ago, and in the first stage of its expansion, it aimed to produce 10,000 cars per week in Groningen.
Recently, more than 6,000 cars have been manufactured per week. According to Tesla, 12,500 people work in the factory.
