Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Egypt Khairat Lama Sherif held a meeting with Minister of electricity and renewable energy Mohamed Shaker at the headquarters of the new administrative capital. 

During the meeting, he spoke about the large-scale transformations in the energy sector that are being implemented in Kazakhstan within the framework of the mandate of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart tuqayev to develop the principle of carbon neutrality for Kazakhstan until 2060, which provides the basics approaches to low-carbon transformation of the economy and industry, as well as joint plans for modern approaches to the development of a new law on alternative energy issues.

At the same time, he noted that along with measures aimed at diversifying the economy and reducing energy intensity, it is important to move towards green technologies, and in this regard, the new law will reflect the forms of regulation of not only renewable, but also renewable energy. As well as all alternative energy sources. He stressed that one of the important initiatives taken by Kazakhstan in this direction is the development of a multilateral energy strategy, especially within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. This document will contain the main directions of further cooperation between the members of the organization in this industry until 2030.

In this regard, he handed over an invitation to the Egyptian Ministry, which is the dialogue partner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, to participate in the energy forum of the SCO countries, which will be held in the capital of Kazakhstan in October this year. . The invitation was accepted with gratitude.
