The situation remains raging between Taiwan and China, especially with the President of Taiwan’s visit to the USA, amid fears Beijing could wage a full-blown war on the island as soon as possible.
For its part, Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen, while in the United States, called on the world’s countries to strengthen cooperation with their countries in the areas of security and the economy.
Taiwan’s presidential office quoted her as saying that as an unstable Taiwan Strait would pose serious economic and security risks to the world, it is extremely important for countries to maintain peace and stability in the region.
The office says Tsai called for not only strengthening security cooperation, but also fostering stronger economic partnerships.
While at the White House, Taiwan’s president said Taiwan’s- US relations were now closer than ever, following ongoing visits between the two countries.
