Economic data published on Tuesday showed that the unemployment rate in Japan fell in June to 5.2% after putting seasonal variables into the calculation, which came in line with analysts ‘ expectations after falling in the previous month to 6.2%
The Japanese Ministry of internal affairs and Communications reported that the job availability rate in Japan reached 30.1 jobs per jobseeker last June, compared to, while analysts were expecting it to rise to 32.1 jobs compared to 31.1 jobs in May.
At the same time, the labor force participation rate in Japan increased last June to 1.63% compared to 9.62% during the previous month.
Data from the Japanese Prime Minister’s office released on Monday showed that the Consumer Confidence Index improved for the fifth month in a row last July, reaching the highest level in more than a year and a half.
The Consumer Confidence Index, after accounting for seasonal variables, rose to 1.37 in July compared to 2.36 in June.
The indicator reflecting the desire of households to buy durable goods increased to 1.31 compared to 9.29, and the Income Growth Index increased by 3.0 points to 2.39.
