“Astra Tech”, the group operating in the consumer technology sector in the Middle East and North Africa region, has announced a new partnership with “UnionPay”, a subsidiary of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, to launch the leading “Ani” platform for instant payment services, operated by “UnionPay”.
Under the new collaboration, the “PayBy” supported application becomes the first financial technology platform to provide the “Ani
” platform, which allows for instant and secure financial transactions around the clock and enables easy money transfers using a mobile phone number, email, or the recipient’s QR code, without the need to deal with the complexities of international bank account numbers.
The Ani platform includes a range of innovative features and advantages that allow for instant and secure money transfers based solely on the phone number, setting new standards in the financial technology sector in the United Arab Emirates by providing comprehensive interoperability between various payment services, enabling instant financial transactions around the clock.
Abdullah Abu Al-Sheikh, the founder and CEO of “Astra Tech” and “Botim” platform, expressed his satisfaction in leading efforts to create new trends in digital payment technologies.
This new partnership reflects our commitment to enhancing innovation and financial inclusion, as well as supporting the initiatives of the UAE in building a cashless economy.
This step aligns with our vision for the application of “Botim,” especially after the recent increase in the number of financial transfers through the “PayBy” service supported by the application, which recently surpassed two billion transactions.
The “Ani” instant payment platform offers a range of innovative financial services, such as payment using different identifiers, payment using QR codes, requesting payment, and installment payments.
It also enables instant and secure money transfers between bank accounts within the UAE, making digital payments easier for both consumers and companies.
In its initial release, the platform will support direct transfers from subscriber accounts with banks and digital wallets to ani account with participating banks using just one identifier, such as a mobile phone number.
Additional services, including payment through QR codes, direct debit, and digital checks, are planned to be added in future versions of the platform.
Users of the “Botim” application can activate the “Ani” service by following three simple steps, including going to the “Payments” page and selecting “Transfer via Ani” and then clicking on the “Activate Now” option.
After that, the service will be linked to the user’s “Botim” payment account, allowing them to receive or transfer money directly from and to ani bank account.
Users can also send and receive money from anyone who has activated the “Ani” service (whether on the “Botim” application or on ani other platform). If the “Ani” service is not activated on the recipient’s account, “Botim” treats it as a regular local money transfer, and the amount is added to the user’s account.
Jean Beauboeuf, CEO of Union Pay, stated, “At Union Pay, we are working on redefining the concept of digital payments and supporting the vision of the United Arab Emirates and its initiatives to build a cashless economy.
The provision of the “Annie” service within the “Botim” application contributes to improving the user experience and solidifying the leading position of both Astra Tech and Union Pay in technological innovations.
We look forward to continuing our cooperation with PayBy and other prominent partners to add new services to the “Annie” platform and enable customers to maximize their benefits from it.”
“Astra Tech” enjoys a leading position in the field of financial technology in the region, thanks to its integrated portfolio of digital financial services aimed at both consumers and merchants.
The company provides services such as direct transfers, international remittances, prepaid card products, and many other financial technology services that focus on inclusivity, innovation, and security through its advanced “Botim” application.
This partnership confirms Astra Tech’s commitment to leading efforts towards a cashless economy in the United Arab Emirates and enhancing its leading position in the field of financial technology.
