President Joko Widodo of the Republic of Indonesia received His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and the UAE envoy to Indonesia, at the Presidential Palace in Yogyakarta.
This took place during an official visit of a high-level delegation from the UAE to Indonesia, led by the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.
During the meeting, His Excellency Suhail Al Mazroui conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and their wishes for the leadership of the Republic of Indonesia and its friendly people for further progress and development.
During the meeting, ways and mechanisms to enhance cooperation in various fields were discussed. President Joko Widodo expressed his happiness with the visit and confirmed his country’s interest in developing its strategic relationship with the United Arab Emirates in all areas that benefit both parties.
During the visit, His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei and the accompanying delegation held several meetings to enhance opportunities for cooperation between the two countries to elevate bilateral relations to broader horizons, reflecting the aspirations of the leadership of the two friendly countries.
In the capital city of Jakarta, His Excellency held bilateral meetings with His Excellency Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment, His Excellency Erick Thohir, Minister of State-owned Enterprises Affairs, His Excellency Arifin Tasrif, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, His Excellency Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Transportation, His Excellency Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, His Excellency Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Investment Affairs, and His Excellency Mahendra Siregar, Deputy Foreign Minister.
During these meetings, the developments in joint projects and investment initiatives were discussed, and further available opportunities in mutually interested sectors were studied.
He chaired the UAE-Indonesian roundtable meeting, organized by the Embassy of the UAE in Jakarta, with the participation of several CEOs and representatives from the private sector of both countries.
At the end of the visit, His Excellency Al Mazrouei met with Ma’ruf Amin, the Vice President, to discuss ways to develop the relations between the two countries and strengthen the economy in the field of halal industrial products.
President Joko Widodo and Minister Suhail Al Mazrouei witnessed the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the construction of the Mohammed bin Zayed College for Future Studies building at Nahdlatul Ulama University in Yogyakarta. The event was attended by Ambassador Abdullah Salim Al Dahiri, the UAE Ambassador to Indonesia, Dr. Khalifa Al Dahiri, Director of Mohammed bin Zayed University for Humanities, and Yahya Khalil Stakof, President of Nahdlatul Ulama Organization. The project will be implemented in collaboration with Mohammed bin Zayed University for Humanities and Nahdlatul Ulama Organization.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Mohammed bin Zayed University and the Renaissance Scholars Organization to establish the construction of the Mohammed bin Zayed College for Future Studies.
The state delegation includes senior officials representing government entities and the private sector in the country, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Economy, the Economic Development Department, the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Masdar, Mubadala, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, Emirates Global Aluminum, Mohammed Bin Zayed University of Humanities, the Balance Council, EDGE Group, Emirates Airlines, Etihad Airways Group, Etihad Rail Company, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Lulu Group, and Elite Agro Holding Company.
