The UAE ranked on the list of the 10 most powerful countries in the world in 2023, according to the classification of the American magazine “U.S. News,” which monitors six indicators of political and economic power.
The UAE has been selected among the most powerful, with a number of world-renowned superpowers such as America and China, thanks to its huge GDP and competitive economy.
The ranking in this list is based on weighted average monitoring to assess six strength-related attributes in countries, including leadership, economic influence, exports, political influence, international alliances, and a strong military.
The magazine surveyed 17,000 people about their thoughts on 87 different countries as part of its study.
“The UAE enjoys a per capita GDP comparable to that of major Western European countries, its long coastline overlooking the Arabian Gulf, and its embrace of the cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, which attract millions of tourists annually,” the American magazine “U.S. News” said.
“The UAE has a rapidly transforming economy, with a GDP of $508 billion. The GDP per capita ($87,729) is now comparable to that of major Western European countries, and the country has the most competitive economy in the Arab world, according to the World Economic Forum,” the magazine said.
The UAE has coastlines along the Arabian Gulf and is famous for its two largest cities, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, which attract millions of tourists annually.
“Dubai is a regional business hub and is famous for its elegant skyscrapers and being the city that hosts the tallest building in the world (Burj Khalifa),” the magazine said.
The list included the United States of America, China, Russia, Germany, UK, South Korea, France, Japan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
