Japan’s oil imports from the UAE amounted to 25.63 million barrels, which corresponds to 37.4% of the total imports in June 2023.
Japan imported about 68.5 million barrels during June, of which the share of Arab oil was 97.3%, an average of 66.7 million barrels, originating from four Arab countries, in addition to the UAE, namely Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman, according to data from the natural resources and Energy Agency of the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and industry.
Japan imported 28.39 million barrels from Saudi Arabia, an average of 41.4% of total imports in June, Kuwait came in third place with 6.91 million barrels (10.1%), followed by Qatar with 3.31 million barrels (4.8%), while Japan imported 1.5% from Oman, or just over a million barrels.
