Mohammed Saif Al-Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, said that the Fund’s role in supporting renewable energy projects in developing countries reflects the UAE’s commitment to investing in sustainable projects that achieve a balance between development requirements and climate action, and support the preservation of natural resources to build a more prosperous and thriving future for communities.
In his statement on the occasion of the first International Day of Clean Energy, which falls on January 26th of every year, he added that the projects funded by the fund in the renewable energy sector over the past years have achieved strategic support for international efforts aimed at increasing the contributions of clean energy in developing countries, in addition to its prominent role in accelerating the pace of transition towards renewable energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions and harmful carbon emissions to the environment, to mitigate the phenomenon of climate change.
