Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) trade reached $10.2 billion from January to August this year, according to the Uzbekistan Economic Studies and Reform Center.
“Uzbekistan exported $3.53 billion in goods and services and received $6.63 billion in goods and services. Commerce with EAEU nations accounts for 25.4% of Uzbekistan’s total trade,” the Economic Studies and Reform Center said.
Uzbekistan is a major supplier of textiles, automobiles, electrical appliances, vegetables, and fruits to EAEU countries.
Uzbekistan imports metals, oil, lumber, machinery and equipment, chemicals, grain, vegetable oil, and other goods.
Since December 2020, Uzbekistan has had observer status in the Eurasian Economic Union.
This enables Uzbekistan to increase economic cooperation with the Union and gain access to markets in other Union-cooperative nations.
