President Shawkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan ordered the processing of a reserve of 1 million tons of gasoline and diesel fuel in order to ensure a stable supply of petroleum products to the domestic market.
The President of Uzbekistan considered the sustainable supply of gasoline and diesel fuel to be of great importance in his country.
The statement by the Presidency of Uzbekistan emphasized the lifting of restrictions on the country’s gasoline imports, while the Government plans to allocate funds to replenish the working capital of importers.
The Uzbekistan State Energy Company Uzbekneftegaz began importing Russian gasoline AI-80 from Gazbromnift, Tatnift and a number of private entities.
In winter, Uzbekistan bought about 100,000 tons of this type of fuel from Russia, the most in demand in Uzbekistan.
The combined capacity of Uzbekistan’s oil refineries is approximately 10 million tons.
Over the past years, Uzbekistan has repeatedly suffered from severe shortages of gas and other oil products.
