Uzbekistan’s gas stations raised prices from 2700–2800 soms to 3100–3250 soms per cubic meter as the Public Prosecutor’s Office spoke with leaders of compressed natural gas filling stations about the inadmissibility of exceeding the specified price set by the government.
Since October 1, the cost of a cubic meter of gas at some car gas filling compressor stations in Uzbekistan has risen to 3100–3250 som.
The price rise occurred against the background of an increase in gas and electricity tariffs for companies, budgetary organizations, and other legal entities from October 1—from 660 soms to 1,500 soms, and for gas stations, from 1,000 to 1,500 soms. Electricity tariffs increased from 450 to 900 soms.
Before the tariff increase, gas was sold at gas stations for an average of 2700–2800 soms, which is 16% cheaper.
To prevent a sharp rise in the prices of gas stations, the government has set a price ceiling of 3,250 soms.
