Uzbekistan’s inflation rate rose to 1.24% in September, the highest figure since the beginning of the year, and the annual inflation rate accelerated to 9.2%.
During September, the price of flour rose sharply amid news of the suspension of production from Kazakhstan, as well as eggs, carrots, and potatoes, and the prices of gasoline and methane continued to rise.
In September 2023, an inflation rate of 1.24% was recorded in Uzbekistan; this was stated in the report of the Presidential Statistics Service.
“Over the past month, food products have become more expensive on average by 1.8%, non-food products by 1%, and services by 0.6%,” according to the Statistics Agency.
Since the beginning of the year (January–September), the inflation rate has risen to 5.13% (last month it was 3.84%). Annual inflation accelerated (by September last year) to 9.19% (8.96%).
Over the year, food products became more expensive on average by 11% (this is the minimum over the past five years; last year it was 16.6%), non-food products by 7.6% (10.9%), and services by 8.2% (6.4%).
