Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) countries increased by 35.1% and reached $11.2 billion in 2021, according to the Center for Economic Research and Reforms.
The pattern of increase continued in 2022, with trade turnover increasing by 10.4% to $12.4 billion. The ECO accounts for 24.7% of Uzbekistan’s total international trade.
Exports increased by 6.3% in 2021 to $5.75 billion. Imports grew by 14.3%, or $6.62 billion; ECO nations accounted for 29.8% of total exports in the year.
Kazakhstan had the most substantial trade share the previous year (37.5%), followed by Turkey (26.3%). They are followed by Kyrgyzstan (10.2%), Turkmenistan (7.5%), Afghanistan (6.1%), Tajikistan (5.5%), Iran (3.5%), Pakistan (1.9%), and Azerbaijan (1.5%).
For the last nine months, trade turnover inside the ECO totaled $9.2 billion, with member nations accounting for 20.5% of Uzbekistan’s overall trade transactions.
Ten nations are members of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO): Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.
