The President of the World Bank, David Malpass, emphasized the world’s facing huge economic challenges during the current period.
The World Bank president said that global development faced huge challenges such as high inflation and interest rates, as well as very high levels of debt that caused a serious decline in growth and investment, especially in developing countries.
The President of the World Bank predicted that some 700 million people around the world would live in extreme poverty.
He emphasized that investing in people was one of the World Bank’s top priorities, stating that “one of the main drivers of human capital accumulation is access to quality education”.
The President of the World Bank stressed that “accelerating access to quality education is a major development challenge,” adding: “It is also vital for science, technology and innovation booms.”
